ITU World Triathlon Voted Race of the Year 2 December 2013 The ITU World Triathlon Hamburg was voted as race of the Year in the “Sprint and Short Distance” category at the 2013 triathlon-Awards by the readers of “triathlon” magazine.

Between mid-October and mid-November, readers of “triathlon” and users of the website were called to cast votes. After evaluating almost 25,000 votes, the race in Hamburg was declared winner. To other legs of the series took 2nd and 3rd place, with London and Kitzbühel also receiving honors.

“Each year, more than 10,000 participants and hundreds of thousands of spectators are blown away ba the incredible atmosphere at the Hamburg Triathlon, and transform Hamburg’s inner city into a cauldron. We are very proud of the distinction. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.”, exclaimed Christin Ellefsen, project manager of the ITU World Triathlon Hamburg, after receiving the award.

The next ITU World Triathlon Hamburg takes place on 12 and 13. July 2014. The registration kicks off on 12 December 2013. Aside from individual competitors for the Sprint and Olympic distances, relays consisting of 3 starters can also take part at the ITU World Triathlon.
