Brownlee Brother wins rain battle of Yokohama!

13 May, 2013

Like his older brother Alistair in San Diego, Jonathan Brownlee won his first ITU World Triathlon race this season in Yokohama.  The expected chilly weather and the constant rain lead the British runner to an impressive performance in all three disciplines.
By a margin of 20 seconds Brownlee came home before Javier Gomez and Joao Silva. With his third place Joao Silva is still leading in the overall standing.

U.S. American Gwen Jorgensen won the women’s race as in San Diego. With her second triumph she supersedes Anne Haug in the World Cup ranking. In a period of less than 33 minutes Jorgensen was able to secure her second win in a row before Emma Moffatt and Jodie Stimpson.
The Germans skipped the race in Yokohama to prepare for the further World Cup season in Europe.
