HAMBURG WASSER WORLD TRIATHLON WINS BEST SHORT DISTANCE AWARD

Fans and readers of triathlon Magazin have voted: HAMBURG WASSER World Triathlon is the best Short Distance Race in 2017.

The triathlon Award, which is presented by triathlon Magazin at the sailfish Night of the Year 2017, once again finds its home at the Port City. This makes it two in a row for the biggest event of the ITU World Triathlon Series, which also garnered the distinction in 2016. Second and third place honors went to the Frankfurt City Triathlon and the Rothsee-Triathlon received, respectively.

Oliver Schiek, Hamburg-based managing director of IRONMAN Germany GmbH, is elated: “This award is a great recognition for all the effort and work that starts way before the race takes place. It’s an incredible feeling to have athletes, spectators and fans encourage us in what we do and motivates us even more for next season.”

Another race in the IRONMAN event portfolio also brought home an award: the Sparkasse IRONMAN 70.3 Kraichgau powered by KraichgauEnergie received the most votes from German-based triathletes, winning the award for Best Middle Distance in 2017.
